Novonesis Freezer Addition

Novonesis, formerly Chr. Hansen Inc., is a company that develops and produces bio-solutions such as cultures, enzymes, and probiotics for various products within the food industry. Partners in Design Architects recently completed the design of a two-story, 40,500-square-foot addition, including a 29,000-square-foot freezer with a temperature requirement of minus 55 degrees at the east end of its West Allis campus. The expansion is connected to the existing Cultures Plant, providing access to both floors. On the lower level, adjacent to its existing quality control lab, is a 10,000-square-foot future office expansion and a new dock area. The new freezer will be connected to the existing minus 55-degree freezer at the second-floor level, which also includes new loading docks.
