The scope of this project included the demolition of an existing undersized gymnasium and support spaces and construction of a compact two-story addition in its place. The addition provides a regulation size gymnasium with retractable seating, division curtain and stage, a new administration and nurse office, dedicated lunchroom and prep kitchen, centralized library and maker lab, 4 differentiated learning classrooms, and a grand atrium gathering space bridging the existing facilities with the new. This project increases safety and accessibility of the school by adding the campus’ first elevator, creating a centralized secured entry point, and integrating all students within shared facilities.
