When many considered the former Kenosha Youth Foundation (YMCA) to be a white elephant, functionally obsolete with little potential for reuse, Partners in Design Architects realized that shifting its upper story corridors to wrap around its light well, would provide a floor plate ideally suited to multi-family residential. This building is now a 45-unit apartment, with most of its historical elements still intact.
